Summer's over :(
Sep 22, 2005
Summer's coming to an end. Getting dark by 7pm, can barely get out after work to play some twilight golf...how depressing. But at least it ain't gonna SNOW this winter... puwahaha ...i love LA! Not much new goin on...had intense two weeks of golf when Goo came into town...which ended with Dan vowing to never play with me again...hahahaha.

Juked
Aug 21, 2005
The Koreans are being represented in the European soccer leagues. Park Ji-Sung (shown at left) is the first Korean player to play for the English Premiership after being transferred from PSV Eindhoven to Manchester United.

Also, thanks to Dan-hyung for sending this video clip of guys getting juked (juked was a word we used in high school for when a guy does a move on other player and makes them look silly). This video is awesome.

Summer Heat
Jul 20, 2005
Man, it's getting hot in LA these days...90 degrees, 30%humidity...life sucks. Trying to keep up with my minimum monthly updates on my site. As you can tell by the new gallery additions, just been going to a lot of weddings this past month. I'll be leaving for Philadelphia tomorrow to play in my sixth Korean Olympics for soccer ('95 DC, '97 seattle, '99 LA, '01 Houston?, '03 Dallas)...it's a bad sign when you're one of the oldest players on the team.

In other news, beat Goo 3 days in a row in his recent visit to LA. Wilson - victory. Robinson Ranch - confirmation. Tierra Rejada - domination. Goo, I OWN YOU, BEYOTCH ...hahahaha...

Two weddings and Goo's funeral
Jun 20, 2005
Been busy going to weddings the past two weekends in a row, while also kicking Goo's ass in golf three days in a row during his visit to LA last weekend. Congrats to Won and Chris on their wedding, and also to Gina and Daniel on theirs.

Back from Chicago
May 24, 2005
Well, I've been back from Chicago for about a week and a half now, but have been getting rocked at work due to production issues. Chicago was good...got to see Derek for the first time (more pics to come), spend Mother's Day with the whole family together, and played a little too much golf. Goo didn't impress me much with the thousands of dollars spent on lessons...should've just bought a few more F2 wedges with that money.

Birthday, soccer and pain
May 2, 2005
Spent first half of the weekend celebrating Judy's birthday. Then spent the other half getting over a fever, strained shoulder from the week before, and playing in our club's host tournament (lost again in finals to Cerritos in extra-time PK).

Next updates, next week after I get back from Chicago from seeing baby Derek and spanking Goo (and my Dad) at their home courses in Chicago (beyotch!).

MIA
Sorry for those unfortunate few who actually periodically check my website...it's been a month and a half since my last update. Not much been going on...pulled some muscle in my shoulder from playing too much golf, but should heal within a week or so (i'm hoping). Here are some more new pics of Derek...it's scary how much he's growing. I have to hurry and see him in Chicago (in 2 weeks) before he grows even more.

Here are mine and Jeff Namkung's favorite IM typos that our good friend Mr. MaGoo has made over the years (tranlsation in parantheses):

5.) "I'm attracked to her" (I'm attracted to her)
4.) "You were bad to your pharrots" (you were bad to your ferrets)
3.) "You have to be suddel" (you have to be subtle)
2.) "Don't liar to me!" (don't lie to me)
   1.) "Jeff, you're such a leaky foccit" (you're a leaky faucet)

Derek Brendan
Here are some more pics of my first nephew, Derek Brendan. He's beginning to look really cute as he grows out of his alien-looking newborn stage.

02.20.05
LA Nissan Open
Went to the PGA tour's soggy LA Nissan Open over at the Riviera Country Club. It was cool seeing all of the big name players up close....these guys were definitely GOOD, despite the wet conditions.

02.18.04
Baby Boy! (I'm an uncle...)
Congrats to my sister and her husband! I'd like to introduce the new addition to the Alice and Dan Sisbarro family...Derek Brendan Sisbarro. Born Friday, 02/18/04 at Northwestern Hospital...weighing in at 6lb 12oz. Both baby and mom and dad are in fine health. Don't you like the baby's Star Wars Jedi robe?

02.13.04
Florida Golf
The Asbury-Nationwide Tour kicked off the 2005 season with tournaments in San Diego and Tampa Bay. Florida golf was great, playing at the El Diablo and World Woods Pine Barrens courses. Pine Barrens was rated 6th in Golf Digest's 2004 Top Courses You Can Play list. Current Asburywide rankings:

    1. Dan Chon
    2. Jeff Namkung
    3. Sunggoo Joh
    4. Gi Chou
    5. Eugene Chang
    6. John Lee
    7. Wiseawn Chou

02.03.04
Millionaires
Continuing this week's theme on saving money, here's a few interesting articles I found on MSN's money central about millionaires. One article on different traits of millionaires. Another article on millionaire lottery winners blowing their winnings and having to file bankruptcy. Big difference in money making a person and a person making money.

02.01.04
Ebay
I'm really dumb. I've been buying tools and supply from Home Depot and Lowes for the past few weeks now at full price...and I've probably spent several hundred dollars worth of stuff. But I forgot that I could buy all of this at 10-20% off through Ebay. When I was bored while working in New Mexico, I used to sell gift cards on Ebay (that I received for free for signing up for dumb offers) at about 80-90% of their face value. Give it a try.

01.27.05
Old Age
Signs that I'm growing older and am officially a thirty-something:
   - Listen to AM news radio in the morning for an hour
   - Unexpectedly falling asleep on weekend nights before 9pm
   - Look forward to home improvement projects
   - Enjoy listening to Earth, Wind and Fire and 70's/Jazz/Classical music
   - Playing lots of golf

01.21.05
Car problems
Been having some problems with my car these past few months (even though < 30k miles and under warranty). Had to replace clutch/flywheel assy and fix brake/rotors. But I found a great auto body shop in k-town that charges a fraction of what the dealer was charging. Brake work was estimated at $1800, but they fixed it for $160 (including oil change). Definitely recommend this place if you need any work done. On a different note, you'll like this magic quadrant if you follow Gartner research and their quadrants.

01.16.05
GOO LOSES
Wait, did I make that font large enough? Hahahahaha. That's right...after listening to months of smack-talk from Goo, the day of reckoning came and saw Goo get spanked by 15 strokes on the first day at Woodley Lakes...Goo - 101, Eugene - 86. Goo was able to make up ground on the second day at a tough Mountain Meadows course, picking up 10 strokes before darkness fell on the 16th hole. Goo conceded the tournament, four hours AFTER admitting that he had played his brother's ball inadvertantly for an entire hole.

All in all, a good weekend in seeing Wise and Goo, and earning some winnings to go towards Kenny's new Mizuno MP32's. Crazy Pirate! Arghghghgh!

01.11.04
Big Golf Weekend

This weekend will showcase some exciting golf action. The men's PGA tour opens up their season at the Sony Open in Hawaii. The headline for the event is whether 15 year-old Michelle Wie will be the first woman ever to make a men's PGA cut after missing last year's cut by one stroke. Visit Kenny's favorite website, Seoul Sisters to view all of the Korean women players. There's a good article on how Korea has been trouncing Japan for the past couple of years in the Pinx Cup...their version of the Ryder Cup.

But this weekend's main event will be the first Asbury LA-Chicago Open Challenge. Representing Chicago will be Mr. Magoo and Wiseawn "The Sprayer" Chou. The LA team will field Kenneth Park and Eugene Chang. The tournament will be hosted by Woodley Lakes GC all three days....hahaha. Sunggoo has promimsed that he will quit golf and donate his golf clubs to me if he loses. Does anybody need a set of Ping Irons?

01.05.05
Happy New Year
Back to the grind after a fairly relaxing holiday vacation. Florida with the parents wasn't as good as it could have been due to rain there. New Years resolutions? Hmmm...I guess the only one I have is to pummel Goo in golf. Not just beat him...humiliate him and make him quit...hahaha. Quantitatively, I'd like to drop down to a 15 handicap by the summer (21 right now).

12.29.04
Disaster Relief
Here's a clip of a mini tsunami...probably not the same as the one that occurred earlier this week. Death toll in south Asia is 80,000 and rising...visit the red cross website and select 'International Response Fund' to help aid in the recovery.

12.20.04
Payoff
After five months of blood, sweat and lots of tears, I was able to meet my year-end goal of breaking 90 in golf by shooting an 86 at Woodley Lakes. It's been a struggle working on my game since I was initially hitting in the 120's in July.

12.13.04
Monday morning
Went straight into 2-hour meeting this morning...blech. Did something different this weekend...I golfed. Woodley Lakes and Hansen Dam...Hansen's pretty nice for a LA city course...crappy fairway conditions, but lots of elevation changes and good greens. Also bought $2000 worth of appliances for the condo (fridge, dishwasher, range). Have to start my long list of to-do items for renovating the condo to get it into decent shape:

     - Install blinds
     - Replace bathroom flooring
     - Swtich out all light switches/outlets
     - Paint
     - Replace bathroom counter
     - Kitchen cabinents/counter
     - Bathtub/shower doors replace

Dilemma: How will I do all of this without sacrificing golf time?

12.09.04
Holiday Season
It's that time of the year again...but for some reason, it doesn't feel too much like Christmas time. Maybe cause i'll be playing golf in 80 degree weather this weekend...or maybe cause my family won't be able to get together for Christmas. In any event, have to get my holiday shopping done soon since Christmas is only two weeks away.

Here's a gift ideaif you haven't finished your shopping.

12.08.04
Disturbing things at the condo
Well, I finally finished moving into my condo this past weekend...but not feeling too home-y since I don't have cable TV/internet hooked up yet. Also need to start renovations on a lot of different items (kitchen counter, bathroom flooring, appliances, shower doors, paint, fixtures). But when I moved in, I found a disturbing post-it note left in the bathroom by the previous owner (aka Glitter Goddess). The note read as follows:

"Eugene, the toilet should be in good working condition since I always throw away my toilet paper away in the wastebasket rather than flushing it down the toilet."

Disgusting....

11.16.04
Broken Leg
Well, my brother had a little mishap playing soccer and had his leg cleaved in two by some dood slide tackling him. Here are some cool pictures of his broken leg before and after surgery. You can see the nice Frankenstein-stitch action going on.

11.05.04
Da Ali-G Show
I don't usually watch too much TV, but HBO's "Da Ali-G Show" is hilarious. Try to catch the shows on Sunday if you have HBO...if not, here are some clips on HBO.com.

11.03.04
Escrow, finally...
Finally started escrow this Monday on my new place in Hancock Park. Am looking at a Nov.30th closing date, and will be moving in the first week of December. It's been a real learning experience doing everything for the first time without a broker (in addition to the seller doing a FSBO). But it's been fun and hopefully I'll be able to do this again sometime soon in the near future.

Click here for pics of the condo.

10.12.04
Hancock Park?
Pulled my deposit out of the Bartlett loft described below. Found out some disturbing information about the developer, and was not happy with the initial walkthrough of my completed unit. I'm looking at a 1BR condo in Hancock Park near the corner of LaBrea and Melrose (close to Hollywood/Beverly Hills area). Waiting to see if the seller accepts my offer 10% below her list price.

Also, broke 100 for the first time in golf. Shot a 96 at Encino and 98 at Harding. Next test: Goo's visit to LA next weekend...puwahahaha.

09.23.04
My first home.
Yesterday, I began escrow for purchase of my first home. Well, not home...condo...kinda. It's a LA downtown loft, 800 sq.ft. Don't ask about the price unless you live in LA and understand California real estate markets.

Nway, the loft is located at the corner of 7th and Spring in the Jewelry district. The city of LA has a new initiative to create the downtown area into a more residential area.

There are currently about 20 loft buildings completed, with another 40 under construction or in planning stages. The unit I've purchased is unit #1102 at the Bartlett Lofts building. Click here for the floorplan. I'm hoping that escrow/inspection will be completed by the end of next month as promised, but we'll see.

09.15.04
Dennis and back to golf
Got through the weekend with entertaining my brother for the weekend....first time a family member had come for the sole purpose of visiting me. Actually turned out to be a pretty fun weekend since I was expecting it to be painful to go a weekend w/o golf. Pictures from the weekend are here.

On a side note, we ended up losing in the finals of the tourney, 0-1, to Cerritos. Bastards.

08.31.04
Work and Golf
Yep, that's pretty much all that's been going on in my life these days. In the pursuit of my competitive desire to beat everybody (while currently being the worst player), I've been going to the range/course pretty much every day.

08.17.04
Blah blah blah...
Sorry for the lack of updates to the site. Been busy wrapping up things at my project in the bay area that completed (for me) last week. Started new project for Broadcom in Irvine today...project should last for about one year if everything goes well.

Other than that, have been busy playing soccer and golf on the weekends. Have been playing golf almost everyday for the past 3-4 weeks since coming back from Chicago. I'm playing around double-bogey golf...but my goal is to consistently shoot around 1 to 1.5 over per hole on an average course.

Also played in the Cerrtos Korean soccer tournament this past Sunday...our joong-nyun division Hollywood soccer club team won the tournament making it two tournaments in a row coming away with a championship.

Ed & Wiseawn Bachelor Party in Vegas

In anticipation of the Big Day for Ed Ku (July 10) and Wiseawn Chou (July 17), a party was thrown for the two bachelors in the friendly confines of Las Vegas.

My most memorable moments of the trip were obviously Wise/Danny being carried out of the club by nightclub security, and Goo doubling down (and losing) on a 14 in blackjack. But the randomized Goo-wave method of betting paid off dividends in the end.

Some of you may wonder what I do with all of my time while I'm traveling on the road. Well let me tell you...my only passion in life right now is Warcraft 3. Forget work. Forget soccer. My life is consumed by Warcraft3 like a peon caught in the Immolation fire of the DH (hahaha).

I play so much, I'm currently ranked 87th in the Western US based on the new ladder ranking system. I live a sad existence. Update: Broke into the top 20! Currently ranked 19th.

 Name: Freddy Adu
 DOB: 2 June 1989
 Height: 5'8"
 Weight: 140 lb.
 Team: DC United (MLS)
 Video:  nike.com
He has been leaving opponents breathless and coaches speechless since arriving in the U.S. at age 8 from Ghana. Adu is blessed with breakneck speed and acceleration. One MLS coach predicts that he will start for the U.S. in the 2006 World Cup - when he’s 17, the same age Pelé was when he made his World Cup debut.

Too bad you don't really see this great Nike   Ole - Portugal and Brazil commercial here in the states. If you can't tell who the cameos are, they are Eric Cantona of France (beard) and Francesco Totti of Italy (parking lot).

  [04.08.04] Thursday
Thank goodness I get to go home today. Here's my results from the NCAA pool. Eighth out of 57 is not that bad, I guess. Sorry for JJ and Won who could've came in 1-2 if OK State would've won. If you're bored, you can also play around with this.

[04.01.04] Thursday
Happy April Fools Day. Don't you love it when you see the under construction sign on a webpage? If you can't get enough of these signs, go here. If you can't tell, I'm just being facerious.

In any case, things have been pretty busy for me since quitting PeopleSoft about four weeks ago. Working on a new project in the Bay area (Documentum) and will be here through July. Between this new assignment, getting my taxes done, playing soccer, getting ready for new song bball league and trying to get another website up and running, everything else is pretty much the same. Oh, the construction sign was supposed to be for my new website > www.adeeno.com.

THE XI KOREAN-AMERICAN OLYMPICS
Dallas - June 2003

Our Chicago Soccer team showed a mediocre performance in the 22-team tournament by losing in the quarterfinals to Atlanta on a questionable call by the ref in overtime. Chicago had made the finals in 2 of the previous 3 tournaments.

PEOPLESOFT V. ORACLE

For those of you who don't keep up with business news, Oracle recently launced a $6.3 billion hostile takeover bid for Peoplesoft. But not to worry...here are some articles citing why the takeover won't happen:

  - States Hold Conference Call on PeopleSoft
  - Peoplesoft's Poison Pill Puts the Lawyers...

This move was prompted by a recent move by Peoplesoft to acquire JD Edwards, which would push Peoplesoft past Oracle in becoming the second largest business software maker.

more to come...
