I'm writing this blog entry in hopes that at least one person out there doesn't make the mistake of signing up with ADT Security Systems because ADT SUCKS. All you have to do is do a google search on "ADT problems" and you'll see a plethora of complaints from ADT customers.

The biggest complaint is probably how ADT quietly locks you into a 2-year contract at ridiculous rates...usually around $40/month. Other alarm monitoring services offer the same services at $10/month. Other complaints include bad customer service, botched service calls, and lack of response from ADT when the alarms do go off.

If you're in the market for an alarm system, I would recommend trying The Monitoring Center or some other service.
